On Wednesday the 29th of May Perth office opened their doors to professionals from Perth and Kinross. The aim was to let as many people know our change of address and let the wider professional community know about the services we provide here in Perth.
The day started with an opening speech from Kathryn Baker CE of TCA. It was followed by an amazing performance from the Kith’n’Kin Choir who sang, Stand by me, Wonderful World and Make you feel my love.
This performance was then followed by a Perth’s client’s story of recovery. This emotional life story had everyone in the building overwhelmed by the courage shown by the Karen to tell her story and how far she has come. Once everyone had gathered themselves it was time to be blown away by another Perth client who want to celebrate their recovery by performing an operatic version of ‘you’ll never walk alone’ and ‘I feel pretty’.
We received great feedback from the 60+ professionals that attended who really appreciated the ‘personal touch’ from the clients and learning more about TCA and what we have to offer.
Written feedback already received from Independent advocates
“Thank you all at TCA for the very enjoyable and powerful interaction with your services today. Mandy and I thoroughly appreciated all the efforts of both workers, and of the people who use or have used your services, to ensure we had a true reflection of the work at TCA. We were made to feel really welcome and we learned more about TCA’s work. The most amazing part was to hear Karen’s story from her and to hear the singing from the Kith n’ Kin Choir gave us insight into the support shared. Marilyn’s performance was incredible and truly special. Please extend our thanks to everyone involved.”
