Kith ’n’ Kin Perth were delighted to be invited along to PKAVS carers conference held on the 4 of November at the Salutation Hotel. Despite the miserable weather the conference was well attended with over 200 delegates attending.
As the first stall on entering the conference, Kith ’n’ Kin were in a prime location to raise awareness for kinship families and for the project. Next to the Kith ’n’ Kin stall were many other organisations from voluntary through to council services and NHS.
There were some great speakers on topics ranging from Participatory budgeting to the new carer’s hub coming to Perth shortly. However the show was stolen by three carers each telling their own very personal stories of what it is like to be a carer…tissues were required!
The day was rounded off with a bit of theatre allowing the delegates to decide how scenarios should be played out. A great end to a great conference. For more information contact Hannah.Hamilton@alcoholtayside.com
