TCA are delighted to have been awarded funding from the National Lottery Community Fund Awards for All programme. The £18,120 we have been granted will be used to support TCA Youth Mentoring Groups, a service which engages with young people in Dundee and Angus who are affected by substance use.

In Dundee, our Boost group provides weekly sessions during term time for young men aged 11-17 while The Klub offers the same weekly support to young females aged 11-17. Both groups focus on young people affected by their own, or another’s substance use. The Crew, based in Angus, delivers similar support for young people in Angus between P6 and S2 ages who are affected by their own or another’s substance use, engaging in anti-social behaviour and/or disengaging from school. Meeting weekly, they take part in fun and issue-based activities.

As well as these term-time groups, this TCA service also offers holiday provision for the group members, including residential trips to places outside of their local community, a summer programme, or team-building activities. Funding such as this from the National Lottery helps ensure TCA can continue to provide support to young people in the community and deliver a high quality service which makes a real impact on young lives.
