Hi everyone! I am the Intandem Family Mentoring Coordinator here at TCA.

Intandem is a new volunteer mentoring service for Dundee supporting young people (aged 7-15) in Kinship care arrangements. My role is to recruit and train volunteers and match them with young people who are looked after by a member of their family for a variety of reasons. Once matched, the mentor and mentee will meet weekly for approx a year building a trusting relationship through trying new activities, setting goals and having fun.

As well as supporting the match, I offer support to the carer throughout this time in any way I can. This can include signposting them to other services in the area or simply having someone to talk to.

Intandem has been making a positive difference across Scotland for 8 years now and I am very passionate to see it having a similar impact in Dundee.

Young people tell us the most important qualities of a mentor are being able to listen, be up for having fun, and turn up consistently to spend time with them.
