Sessional work in Perth with young people

TCA are looking for anybody who would be interested in doing some ad hoc sessional work in Perth supporting children and families affected by parental substance use, parental mental health issues, and who may be living in households where there is domestic abuse, across Perth & Kinross.

The post is only active when TCA receive a referral and this enables a degree of flexibility in terms of the working hours. Training will be delivered to the successful applicant in advance of the start date.

Purpose:         The sessional ad hoc post offers support to Parent/Carers and children affected by parental substance use, parental mental health issues and who may be living in households where there is domestic abuse, across Perth & Kinross. The successful applicant will have the flexibility to respond to referrals when and if needed.

The role of this post is to improve the wellbeing and opportunities of children, young people and their families by supporting them to address problems relating to the above issues.

The successful applicant will assist in taking forward the development and delivery interventions targeted at vulnerable and marginalised young people who are living at home or working with the parent(s) or carers. The post holder will be expected to work alongside the Children and Young Person’s team in the Perth area and will be able to draw on the resources of the team.

The post holder will be required to work collaboratively with other agencies to plan, develop and deliver this work. The post holder will be able to work with a significant degree of autonomy and will be managed and supported through support and supervision.

You will have experience of working with challenging and vulnerable young people individually and in groups and also providing support to adults with a range of issues. Consideration will be given to applicants with a lesser range of skills, qualifications and experience which will be reflected in the salary. A full current driving licence and access to a car is required for this post.
