Salary/hours: £36,151 – £39,511 / 36.25 hours per week
Term: 2 year Fixed Term (until 31 March 2018)
Location: TCA Offices, 22-24 Catherine Street, Arbroath
Reports to: Team Manager, Criminal Justice Service, Angus Council
Based in the TCA Office at Arbroath, and with an Angus-wide remit, you will fulfil statutory social work duties towards women offenders in the Glen Isla women offenders project in Angus. You will be expected to undertake the full range of criminal justice social work duties for women offenders, including reports for courts and the parole board, supervision and group work.
You will lead a dynamic and enthusiastic multi-agency team which strives to maintain high standards of practice. You will secure long term alternative funding as well as consider the development of the service including scoping opportunities for a social enterprise model.
You must have professional experience in a related setting, excellent report writing and communication skills and the ability to organise and manage a busy workload. Case planning and case management skills as well as the ability to work to deadlines are essential. The ability to maintain case files, keep case record and perform other necessary administrative tasks with promptness and efficiency is required.
A professional social work qualification (BA Social Work/MSc Social Work/Dip SW/CQSW/CSS with appropriate option) and SSSC registration are essential.
A willingness to work with women offenders, a demonstrable interest in, and enthusiasm for, work in the criminal justice system and a commitment to providing effective and credible alternatives to custody for women are essential.
